About

He began with Through the Eyes of a Foster Child: A Poetic Journey (2005), a book rooted in survival and voice. It was the sound of a young poet reclaiming his story, naming the wounds and wonders of childhood with a courage that refused to disappear. The theme was clear: to speak is to live.

Five years later came Before I Was Born: I Saw the World Through Your Eyes (2010), a book of poetry. In those pages, he imagined the world as a child suspended in the quiet darkness, learning life through the mother’s eyes—her hopes, her fears, her dreams. It explored how identity begins long before breath, shaped by the emotional and spiritual landscapes of those who carry us. The theme: we are formed by the eyes that first imagine us.

Then, in The Essence of Wisdom and Life: A Poetic Journey (2011), his voice widened into reflection and meaning. The questions grew deeper, the craft more deliberate. He wrote as someone beginning to understand the weight of experience—service, struggle, resilience—and the quiet truths that emerge when a person listens closely to their own becoming. The theme: wisdom is earned through living.

Dahveed began writing while in foster care, finding solace and expression through his writing and being inspired by his high school English teacher, LaVerne Goins. Writing enabled him to convey what was truly on his mind and heart.

Beyond his writing, Dahveed has a rich professional background in clinical research, with specializations in oncology, psychosis, and medical devices. He holds a doctorate in Natural Medicine, often experimenting and creating homeopathic remedies for personal use. He also served his country through the United States Marine Corps.

In his personal time, Dahveed explores the meeting place between science and holistic health, continuing to write with a steady passion that invites, captivates, and inspires his readers.
